FIVE pieces of chocolate

Kelly gets a sticker at home each day IF she doesn’t hit anyone at school or get her clip moved from green to yellow. She also gets a piece of chocolate on Wednesdays IF she has gotten three stickers in a row. She only got 4 stickers last week and only 1 so far this week.

Yesterday and today she hit and pushed people at school. This may be explainable because her brothers are being adopted this week by her tia and tio. However, she “is physical towards others” (as her school write-up says) about 1-2 times a week since school began so I’m not quite sure. Anyhow, today is Wednesday and she didn’t get a sticker. So she didn’t get chocolate.

While we were Skyping with her brother and sister in Mississippi she was off playing by herself, which she often does. Only when she came back 10 minutes later her breath smelled like chocolate. “Hmm, Kelly, have you been eating chocolate?” “NO.” “Let me see your mouth.” “NO!”

Sure enough, she had sneaked into the study and helped herself to chocolate. Where did she eat them? In her room upstairs. How many wrappers were in her trash can? FIVE. Well, I guess she thought she deserved them. It’s been a week of high stress for everyone. I always go for the chocolate too. And I did after my anger and frustration towards Kelly subsided. Oh well, what are you going to do . . .

You’re right! I can relate to the NEED for chocolate! SO love my Monica and KellyJo! Praying for all of you with the new adjustment you’re going through! Love the pictures and stories about Victor and Jesus!

Hi Renee,

We have the same problem with our daughter, Angelica who came home in August 2006. She has a para at school and she is very aggressive towards her…would love to know if you have any suggestions/ideas/advice because nothing we are doing seems to help. Not sure if her acting out is a way to get attention or initiate conversations (signfiicant speech delays)… Your girls are absolutely beautiful
